I haven’t had a productive week when it comes to reading, but at least I have read. I like to think that, due to making somewhat of an effort to read it is better than nothing, but at the same time, I want to know that I should be making more of an effort to always be reading.
This week I have read The Summer of Broken Rules by K. L. Walther. This is what I thought about it.
This book is super cute; it is a coming-of-age story about a young girl dealing with the death of her sister, a bad boyfriend, a breakup, and starting university in September. The book takes place over a week before her cousin gets married, and it explores how she can heal and how she really does open herself up.There is also a side story of a water gun game called Assassin, which is super humorous to the story. Makes some drama for Meredith.
It was a good read, and I am happy that I ended up reading it. I listened to it on audiobook as well as read the book. I bought the book, but I am having some buyer’s remorse with it. I don’t think it was worth the purchase, and I will most likely never read it again, and it is too late to return the book, so I am not too sure what I am going to do with it yet, but I can always change my mind about it later, I think.
I am having a great time having a lot of books that I have but I just need to take the time to actually read and to know that it is going to be fine with whatever it is that I am choosing to do with it but sometimes I feel like I need to set an alarm and schedule in the time to read. I mean, if that is what is going to work, then maybe I should do that!
I will keep you posted with what I decide, and maybe I will just come up with a better idea altogether! Happy reading, everyone, and I will see you next week!
