New Year, New You!

New Year

It happens every year, the new year is here. It's the time that you have to set resolutions and start to do them. There are many different ways to do them. I have came up with a 12 suggestions in how to resolutions so that they will stick. These are just my suggestions that I have come up with that have worked for me. Not all of them may work for you!

1. Don't get down on your self if you miss a day or 2. It's all OK. The point is, is that you go back on track of what it is that you want.

2. Instead of quieting 100% (which if you are one of those people then awesome! You have a really great self control over what you are doing) But for some others it could take some more time. It can take longer then 21 days to have a habit to full effect.

3. Take smaller steps or small goals to achieve what it is that you want. It can keep you more motivated knowing that you have achieve so much towards the bigger goal.

4. Turn everything from a negative into a positive. You don't want to say 'I want to eat less junk food' verses say 'I want to eat more veggies and fruit today.'

5. Be more specific with you resolutions or goals. Instead of being ' I want to read more books this year' say that 'I will read one book a month this year.'

6. Have a dream board or a place for all of your goals to be seen on a regular basis so you can keep on track with everything that you wanted to be doing. Seeing them can help commit them to memory.

7. Take time out everyday for yourself. Whether that is to meditate, journal, read, bath or exercise, its important to take time out for yourself.

8. Don't get into the hype of it being a new year and a near you. If you feel like you would like to change some things about your self then great, if not then that's great to. Try thinking of it on a smaller scale. Each week take the time to reset your self to become a better you. Clean out your bags, house, or even digital de cluttering can help.

9. Change your mind set & your routines. Maybe all you need to start off the day, week, month or year is to make the smaller changes in life. Change slightly how you get ready for work in the morning or get ready for bed at night. Change the days in which you you particular chores or errands to run. Smaller changes can definitely can lighten up your time!

10. Clean up and de clutter those areas in your home which are a mess and are giving you a headache. Go ahead and deal with those smaller tasks that you just don't want to deal with. Now is the time to deal with them. Once they are done and out of the way you can focus and concentrate on what is most important things. Have a clutter free area can definitely help you accomplish more in a timely manner.

11. Set time frames for everything. Whether the time frame is 1 week, month or year or even for the next 25 minutes. If you started to do something for 10-15 minutes changes are that you will want to just keep going. If you set out a time frame to do something like 2 hours verses just doing this project until it gets done could make the project take longer then what it really should. After all you time is worth more. Don't spend more time on things that are unnecessary.

12. Commit to commitment. Some times you may need for it to just become more of your life style. Saying to your self 'I am a vegetarian' or 'I am a non-smoker' can help you become a vegetarian in your life. Some times vocalizing your goals to people so some one you know can help you be accountable for your actions can be great as well.

What do you think about this ideas for resolution making? I have found that all of these things have at one point or another has helped me in doing this. Setting goals or making resoluions in my opinion is very great. Gives you something to work towards and something to do with yourself!
