Muenster is actually an American play on a French cheese. Less potent but no less satisfying than its European ancestor, it is made from whole cow’s milk and touts sweet and nutty notes that are comparable to a mild Swiss. It is also known for its pale colour and orange rind, the result of vegetable colouring.

Muenster melts beautifully, making it a great choice for dishes like grilled-cheese sandwiches and quesadillas.
