3 Books and Finishing a Mitten!

If you haven’t heard already, I have had a productive week this week with reading 3 books and completing a mitten.

I am very happy with myself for doing this. Now 2 of the books that I read this week I had already started previously, and I had also started off the mitten but that is not to say that I didn’t finish them all off today. I have worked hard to complete all of it, and I am proud of myself for doing so.

I do plan on spending most of my day reading Everyone Here Is Lying by Shari Lapina and potentially even starting the next mitten.

So, to recap I have read None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell, Pageboy by Elliot Page, and Ink Blood Sister Scribe by Emma Torzs. 2 fiction and 1 nonfiction. I think I gave None of This is True 4.5 stars, Pageboy about 3.5 and Ink Blood Sister Scribe a 1 star.

None of This is True was a quick read and I really enjoyed reading it. I could have read it a lot faster than what I did but at the end of the day, it is done now, which is all that matters. It was good because it really did put an emphasis on that everyone has different perspectives and that could really mean the difference of someone thinking that something is true when it isn’t.

Pageboy was great; I didn’t know that Elliot was married at one point in time and that he had gender dysphoria form a young age. It is nice to see that he did spend a month when he was 20 years ago backpacking throughout Europe and to hear some stories of being on a movie set. I didn’t know that he liked the original Flatliners growing up, so being able to be in the remake must have felt like a dream come true for him.

Ink Blood Sister Scribe, well, I like the concept of the book and the magic system that has been put into the book, but it really wasn’t for me. I do think that upon another reread at some point in the future this would be a better read. As of right now, I would not recommend this book to anyone, but it was worth a shot.

Regarding my mitten, it is again going to be a finger less one with the ability to have a flap to cover my fingers but again on this one the finger holes are just so tight that I don’t know what I should do to be able to fix that. I think I would need to add in more stitches which can be done but well I think by the end of it I am just getting so tired that I don’t want to do that! I crocheted these finger holes instead of knitting them when I thought I should have stayed to knit or at least chose a much bigger crochet hook. I think that these finger holes are not salvageable now, but I may come back and fix them later, when I am doing the finger holes for mitten number to, just like when I did that for the first one.

This week has been productive but that is just this week, I don’t think that this is going to happen every single week but at least for this week it is!
