5 Graphic Novels & 1 Jr. Fiction

This week I have read a lot, but not really, it just seems like that beucase it was a lot of junior books, so they are easy to read, therefore fast to consume, and it does make it look like I am reading more when I am not really.

This week I have read….

  1. Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

  2. The Artemis Fowel Arctce Incident by Andrew Donkin

  3. Katie and the Cupcake Cure by Coco Simon

  4. The Red Pyramid by Orpheus Collar

  5. The Throne of Fire by Orpheus Collar

  6. The Serpent's Shadow by Orpheus Collar

This is what I thought of each book

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

I thought the graphic novel was great, it introduced all of the right characters in they needed to perfectly as chapter separators. I honestly didn't follow the story at all too well, but it is about a child prodigy called Artemis Fowl the second. He has a bodyguard named Butler. The Butlers have been serving the Fowl family for generations. Artemis goes on a mission to get a magical book, but ends up fighting an elf instead. It was worth the read, though the book is most likely going to be better.

The Artemis Fowel Arctce Incident by Andrew Donkin

Artemis is tired of the semantics of school and knows that he is smarter than everyone there. He is taking therapy, but he is just doing it for his mother's sake.Artemis is on a mission to find his father, who he thinks is frozen in the Arctic.Artemis gets help from Butler as well as Koboi Opal on this mission. Artemis is unable to locate his father but thinks he knows where he is.After the mission, when back to school, his therapist thinks that this experience has changed him, but it hasn't at the end of the day.

Katie and the Cupcake Cure by Coco Simon

I thought that the book was super cute. The book is about Katie's first day of middle school, where your lifelong friend Callie has made 3 new friends over the summer, leaving Katie on her own. Katie is sad, but it allows her to make 3 new friends on her own, Mia, Emma, and Alexis.Mia has an idea to make a club of their own, which they call the Cupcake Club, where they make cupcakes! There is a school fundraiser, and the club decides to make cupcakes! They win the fundraiser, which brings the girls closer together! Katie can stay friends with Callie as well as her new friends!

The Red Pyramid by Orpheus Collar

I thought that it was super cute and I liked how it was Egypt-themed and how kids are going to save the day, but that is sort of the point in these books!I liked the description and how they went through the pyramid to beat the bad guy to only survive and win!It is also about how these kids find out their powers and are trying to navigate how the Egyptian Gods are real and are trying to hurt them and putting them to the test.

The Throne of Fire by Orpheus Collar

This is about the kids who are back in action, taking little medallions from the different Gods, one is from Khufu to make a bigger medallion to beat the serpent with a head on each end.The kids even have to go to Russia to get one of the items.

The Serpent's Shadow by Orpheus Collar

The kids are back at it again, fighting in the aftermath of the serpent with the Book of Toth.Carter does end up on the throne as he should, but it is a great fight to get there after the last battle that they had fought. When you make everyone work for the greater good, you really do end up paying for it!

It has been a good week for reading, but I would like to read more adult fiction.  I have started many books this week as well, so I plan to finish all of them!

Happy reading, everyone, and we will see you at the next Dippit!
