A Novella & A Fiction

This week I have finished a novella and a fiction book and this is what I thought about them.

Thoughts on When Among Crows by Veronica Roth

I have finished this little novella.

It is about hunters who have to trade their souls to help defeat the monsters that are there.

Our main character gets her brother and their friends to help her but when their friend has alternative plans.

The ending is a bit lack lustre because they can just do what they want.

Thought’s on I’m Not Done With You Yet by Jesse Q. Sutanto

This book is in 3 parts.  The first 2 parts flip between the present and the past when Jane and Thalia are in university.

The third part flips between Jane and Thalia's perspectives.  We are mainly following Jane for the most part and her stockerish obsession with Thalia.  Thalia marries Jane's brother Ivan when all of a sudden Ivan dies.

Thalia knows who it did but doesn't know how it was done but knows they are coming for her next.

I am trying to get more reading in and trying to relax.  I am getting more settled into my routine of working 2 jobs and volunteering which I like, and I do enjoy volunteering and the options of the books in which I can read.  In some ways, I do treat the bookstore like a library but that is for another day, I do like having the ability to work and to be at a library very often where I am getting exposed to a lot of different types of books that are out there.

Reading is great and a great way to feel like you are reading a lot is to read novels below your grade level or graphic novels.  Graphic novels weren’t something that I thought I would like or would enjoy but as it turns out I do.  If it wasn’t for me working in a children’s library I most likely wouldn’t be exposed to books like Dork Diaries, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, or Big Nate but I am happy that I am.

A thought just occurred to me that due to having some many different online applications, instead of taking books out from the library or the bookstore, I should be using the application Hoopla more.  I think I should do that!  I should try to become more digital; it would be great!

Are you more paper or digital yourself?
