BofM & Audible Kind of Week

This week has been quite something. I was able to listen to another audiobook, which was great. I was able to listen to Maybe This Time by Cara Bastone. I enjoyed it so much that I have investigated listening to the other four audiobooks on Audible that are free from her just to see how they are. I mean, Maybe This Time was very adorable, and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

The audio mixing on this is well done, I highly enjoyed listening to it.  I would recommend it.

It is a romance and just kindles my heart.  This is what I thought about the book.

I thought that this book was adorable. It is a romance book, ultimately.June has gone into a wormhole where she ends up 80 years in the future and has stayed there for 5 years. When her phone mysteriously turns on one day, she makes a phone call, and Mikey picks up. After talking for a big they realize that the wormhole is going to open up in 2 weeks in Mikey's timeline so he is convinced by June to woo her, to stop her from going into the wormhole.Through this 2 week process, they end up falling in love with each other. Mikey is of course able to stop June from going into the wormhole but what ends up happening is that the present and future June become one person, there is no longer two of them. Due to this Mikey and June can really start falling in love with each other and that is fantastic.

The other book that I read was The God of the Woods by Liz Moore.  It was the LOLLY pick from Book of the Month.    It was different from what I had anticipated but it was still pretty good.  This is what I thought about it.

I thought that the book was great. Originally, I thought the book was going to be a thriller, but it was a literary fiction. The book follows Barbara Van Laar, who goes missing one morning at Camp Emmerson. Her family has owned this camp for many years and are high society in New York. In the off-season, the Van Laar family hosts parties for their socialite friends at the camp. When Barbara goes missing, it becomes very reminiscent of when her older brother went missing on the property. Barbara was born after Bear went missing, but his presence was always known to her.The title of the book and what really happened to Barbara and Bear doesn't get revealed until the last 50 pages of the book which is fine but along the journey you find out what really happened to Bear and what happens in high society when you have money and what a family will do to keep their name in full standing.

From Book of the Month both my February and April boxes came in and this is what I got from both boxes.

  1. Last word Wins by Gillian McAlister

  2. The Spectacular by Fiona Davis

  3. Entrantra by Kaylie Smith

  4. The Sun Was Electric Light by Rachel Morton

  5. Passion Project by London Sperry

It was my birthday month, so I got to choose one for free, which was really nice and something that I enjoyed!

But this has been a great week for me. I got some new books, finished a novel this week, and listened to another audiobook, so that is just plain wonderful!

Happy reading everyone, and we will see you next week!
