Cinderella came out in 2021 starting Camila Cabello, Nicolas Galitzine, Idina Menzel, Pierce Brownan, James Corden and Minnie Driver.
This is a modern musical on the classic fairy tale of Cinderella.
It takes a lot of the colours that you would expect from this classic tale and adds in a variety of new music into the show.
James Corden is one of the producers of the movie and stars as one of the mouse friends of Ella.
This version of the fairy tale has a twist ending that is instead of the prince and Ella just getting married at the end of the movie, they decide to go travelling together. They go travelling because Ella met a queen at the ball who complimented Ella’s dress, Ella stated that she made it herself. The queen just loved that she did and said that she needed some new clothes so if she met her the next day before she left, Ella could come with her and make some new clothes for her. Of course, Ella wanted to take the chance to do and do it.
The jealous stepmother has a liking to Ella as well and lets her in on a secrete that she could play the piano very well and didn’t take the chance she had to go pursue it for a month. So wants Ella to take the chance on herself to go be a designer for the queen or at the very least marry the prince her and for the family.
The prince’s sister is more suited for the role of ruling the kingdom anyways so she becomes first in line to take the throne to rule the land so her brother can run off with Ella.
The movie is heartfelt and warms the cockles of my heart. I would watch this movie again!
This movie as I remember received a lot of dislike form the public, but I don’t understand why, in my opinion it is a very modern take on the classic.
Would I recommend this movie? 100% yes. Please go watch it if you haven’t already.
