I have finished a book this week (The Little Bookshop on the Seine by Rebecca Raisin) but I have been mainly focusing on some crafts.
I finally finished the scarf that I have been working on, I have made it into an infinity scarf, but I am more excited that I have finished the ball of yarn that I was using.
I have also assessed the bag of small balls of yarn that I have, and I have made the executive decision that some of what was in there I initially took as very fine yarn, but I think that it is more thread that you can use to sew or stitch with. I have taken those balls out and I am going to give them to my friend who sews and does some cross stitch. I think that this thread would be perfect for a cross-stitch project, especially seeing as one of them is grey and sparkly.
Out of the balls of yarn that were super small and that had all the same thickness I am going to be crocheting into a big granny square so that way I have a baby blanket ready for a boy, if one comes up soon! I am so happy that it worked out with these balls of yarn that they were more ‘boy’ colours and white to help offset it a bit.
I know that I need to be making more of an effort to be reading everyday but in the back of my mind I keep thinking of this one YouTube video which I once saw that discussed how you were taught wrong in school and what I ended up taking from this video was that if right now all that I feel like doing is crafting then I should be doing it, binging it so that way ‘I can get it out of my system’ or I should ‘hyper fixate’ on it versus trying to find balance as balance, habits and routines are not for everyone. I should be trying to find ways that work for me, and I can use to make sure that all the things that I need to get done, are done.
I am wanting to get some reading done today but I know that I am a fast crocheter so I could potentially get the whole blanket done tonight if I hyper fixate on it which is ok, but I do want to read. I won’t be able to finish a book by the end of the weekend, but I have read a book this week which is a goal of mine which is good.
I do want to form a habit of reading everyday as I don’t like to binge read all the time and I want to make sure that I am going to read a book because I don’t like it when I don’t.
I have been thinking of doing some more themed vlogs where for a week I end up reading. The first one would be reading all Percy Jackson books in a week. Do I think I could do it? No but a week doesn’t have to be Monday to Sunday, it could be Tuesday to Monday which could end up working out better for me but 5 books in one week is more than I have ever done before, it would be more than I could potentially handle but I could try. 3 in a week could be cool.
