New Display, Hauls & Book Read

I have read 3 books this week and they are…

  1. The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley

  2. Ones and Zeros by Dan Wells

  3. Forever Young: A Memoir by Haley Mills

One adult fiction, one adult non-fiction, and one teen book.

The one that I was most surprised by was Forever Young.  I read it rather quickly (in a day rather quickly) and I did enjoy it.  I liked learning about all the different movies she was in, how school life was, going to finish school in Switzerland, her battle with bulimia, and losing all her money to name a few things.

Hayley has been through a lot and has had a wonderful life.  It does make me think that the 1960s were a different time, but Haley is a great actress and has lived a fantastic life.

I was taken aback by Ones and Zeros mainly because I didn’t realize until after I had finished it, that it was book 2 in a series of 3 so it was really kind of frustrating because I didn’t know what was going on, but I was able to pick things up as I went along.  It was a good book regardless and I did enjoy the world building in it.  The book takes place in 2050 and Big Brother tracks you with everything that you are doing.  In a future dystopian, kids do save the world and still have time for games afterward!

The Midnight Feast was a bit of a throwback to Lucy Foley.  I have a love/hate relationship with her but because I haven’t read any of her books in over a year, I was gently surprised by this book, it was ok, I would recommend it, but I ended up leaving it with the feeling that it was just to simpler to The Guest List.

I have created a new display to film with and I do think that it does need some work, but I can always change that up I do like how it looks, and I look forward to the ability to change books in and out of the display as time goes on.

I have my work cut out for me with my current TBR which I think is going to go over swimmingly.  I just need to start reading!
