Reading 3 Books In One Week

Reading 3 books in one week doesn’t really happen often but I know that it did this week. Now the books that I have read are just kid books and I could read them in a few hours which is what I wanted to be doing and what I like about it but is it realistic to do that? No. I do wish I could have let the books simmer a little but before I read them like that but at the same time, they were way too easy to be read all in one sitting.

I was able to read Holes by Louis Sachar, Journey to the Centre of the Earth by Jules Verne and The Santa Suit by Mary Kate Andrews.

I am happy that I was able to get a Xmas book into the mix. I was able to get rid of some of the books that I had meaning to get rid of and that is, I needed to get the books back to the library and back to the bookstore. Should I be more realistic about my money knowing that I am purchasing these books and then after reading them bring them back to the bookstore? Yes, but I have kept some from the store that I know.

I can get the books into a log so I know who much I am reading and that is something that I need to keep doing so I know that I can be doing this for the long term. I like Goodreads but it doesn’t amount to me to have something in my phone that is more personal.

I have started a new craft as well which is always a great feeling, I just hope that I can get it done before Valentines Day gets here!

I am also very happy to announce that I am not going to be putting pressure on myself to be more of a minimalist by getting rid of books when I don’t necessarily need to. Should I be making sure that I don’t bring new books into the house? Yes. Do I want them as soon as I see them? Yes. I mean if I am going to read them right away, I don’t see the problem with it, but I don’t want to be a storage facility for them. I only have so much space and I am only allotting so much space for this type of activity as well. Less is more which is why I am considering getting myself an e-reader in the new year, so I don’t have to have all these books laying around which is also the aesthetic that I think I am going for. Having all these books is nice but when I am not really reading them it isn’t worth it at the end of the day, you know.

Less clutter is good clutter I think and is what I want in my adult life, I think. Honestly, I am at the library 4 times per week so why is having a lot of books a good thing you know?
