Reading a Smaller Book by John Grisham

Sometimes when you need to read a book a week, you must be cheeky and read a smaller book that you can read in a day just to get this challenge completed.

I ended up picking up Skipping Christmas by John Grisham from the library to read as it was a smaller book and I read it in a day.

It was a very cute little book about a couple who was going to skip Christmas this year so they could save money to go on a cruise.  At the very last minute, meaning December 24th they decided to not skip Christmas, get a tree, and throw a neibourhood Christmas party.  They ended up having a wonderful time and they decided to also go on their cruise as well.

It does beg the question if you can really skip Christmas at all.  It is a time that does bring everyone together.

I am happy that I read the book, I know Christmas is over and we no longer have any snow but it is still winter so I thought that it would be a very cute read to have.   I am happy that I read it.

I still haven’t decided what my book of the month book is going to be yet, I am partially waiting for the book sphere to help me out with picking it, so I feel more validated with my choice, but I do have one in my cart ready to be purchased though.

I have a few different books on the go which I think is ok, I need to buckle down and start to read them.  I think that I am just looking for a smaller book, maybe YA to help me out with it.

I do like reading, but I do feel like I am in a bit of a slump because I haven’t been paying a lot of attention to what I am reading, and I can’t decide what book that I am going to be reading next.  I mean it doesn’t really matter if I am reading, right?

Well, I do need to finish a book and that would make things a lot easier if I were to just finish one book at a time as I can only read one book at time anyways.

Maybe by the end of the year, I will have read multiple books at one time down pat and I can do it successfully.  I know that it is a task.  I have a Kobo now so maybe I can start to annotate my books more.  I was thinking of potentially getting a stylist for it so that way it could be easter to do.  My cover does have space for a stylist.  I am just new to the annotation game so I am not too sure if I will like that or not.  It doesn’t hurt to try though at the end of the day.  I do like to read but it does feel like all these things are just so brand new to me, so I am still figuring it out as I go alone.
