The Matrix came out in 1999 starting Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishbourne, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Hugo Weaving.
The movie I feel has stood up well for it coming out 22 years ago. Of course, there is some CGI that hasn’t stood up the test of time but there is some camera work which has stood up which was groundbreaking for the time that it came out.
The movie you could say has its own religious undertones but besides that it is a good movie that has turned into a franchise. I don’t think that it was supposed to be turned into a trilogy but here we are. It is great that the movie has now has a fourth one and they did not recast any of the characters and that the actors did come back for it.
The Matrix is about how all the people in the world are just sheep and that they need to be woken up and be taking out of the matrix to realize the truth that we are just control by a machine to feed their life force. Of course, this computer or machines do have agents that exist to catch and kill those who have woken up from the matrix and are trying to wake up others from the matrix, the true believers.
Neo is being seen as the one, the one who has set us all free and is going to lead us into a reality where we can continue to wake up others. To prove that he is the one, he must fight the lead agent which he does, and he beats him by the end of the movie. The only way he can do this is by realizing his true power and abilities to do so both within and out of the matrix.
Would I recommend this movie to others? Yes, of course I would. This movie came out when I was a young adult and I have enjoyed rewatching the movie as I have gotten older. I am super excited to see the new movie and happy to see that a new one has been made.
Would I watch this movie again? Yes, I have several times and don’t think that I will stop watching the movie.
