I have completed my week of thrillers reading 5 in total. I read 3 by Megan Miranda and 2 by Lisa Jewell.
This week I have read…
The Girl from Widow Hill by Megan Miranda
Such a Quiet Place by Megan Miranda
The Only Survivors by Megan Miranda
Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell
Watching You by Lisa Jewell
I have enjoyed all of them but I feel that I am not used to reading a lot of adult fiction in one week, that I feel like I have stopped comprehending what I was reading at the end of the day and I wasn’t reading what I was reading and most of all I wasn’t picking up of the clues in the book that I should have been picking up as the book went on as in I could have figured out what was going on before it was revealed like I usually do.
I was not impressed with Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell, it wasn’t the book that I thought it was. I found it rather refreshing and I did enjoy reading it. I started to read this book about a year ago, but I stopped reading it because I thought that I knew what it was going to be about, but it wasn’t, it took a few twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting, and I did appreciate that.
The book that I had different impressions on was The Only Survivors by Megan Miranda. I thought this book was going to be like the Final Destination series, but it wasn’t at all, not everyone dies. It is a little underwhelming due to things were more on the accident, misunderstanding and not what type of a thing more so a vindictive, thought I was doing the right thing sort of perspective.
The book that I was least impressed by was Watching You by Lisa Jewell. This is the 3rd Lisa Jewell book that I have read so far and is the least underwhelming of them all. I guess that perspective is everything especially when it comes to human nature, stocking, and death.
I am happy that I have taken the time to read these books and I decided to read The Only Survivors due to being on the fence about that one for so long. I plan on taking the books either back to the library or to the library bookstore so others can enjoy them.
I did end up getting a few books yesterday from the bookstore…
1. Emily of New Moon by L.M. Montgomery
2. Emily Climbs by L.M. Montgomery
3. Emily's Quest by L.M. Montgomery
4. The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan
5. The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
6. The Librarianist by Patrick deWitt
I am not sure when I am going to read them. I am more than excited to be able to read books and to be in such a position where I can read so much and have so much easily access to some really great books. I am excited that my thriller week is over, and I am now headed into my week of romance. Quite the change but I am looking forward to it!
