The first-ever “Harry Potter” was a short story published in communist Poland in 1972.
The boy who lived has, in fact, lived ever since 19 March 1972, when literary magazine Życie Literackie published a short story titled “Harry Potter”. The author – Jan Rostworowski – was a Polish writer and poet who, as a soldier of the Polish Army, spent twenty-eight years in Great Britain.

Discrimination
When Paris was liberated in 1944, British and American commanders agreed that a French division lead the liberation of Paris. In keeping with racial segregation of American troops, the Americans stipulated that only white soldiers be involved, despite the French army being only 40% white. Black soldiers were taken out of the selected unit and replaced by white soldiers from other units, and even other armies—this meant that General Charles de Gaulle lead the liberation of Paris with a division of “French” soldiers who were largely Spaniards.
