1 Book Read

This week I have only read one book, but I do have 2 books on the go, which is fine if I do finish them.  I have 3 books that I want to finish this week, I just must make sure that I take the time to read them then!

This week, I read Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood, and here is what I thought about it.

Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood

This book definitely was a surprise for me. I found it hard to read to start off with, but I found it to be a real page turner by the end of it.This book follows Maya and Conner. Maya's brother Eli is getting married in Italy to his wife, Rue. There is a 14-year age gap between the siblings. Eli's best friend since childhood, Conner, is there for the wedding and has known Maya basically her entire life. The book jumps between the present day and the past, where Conner meets up with Maya.A relationship between the two does spark, but not without problems, specifically seeing as there is a rather large age gap.The book was written rather tastefully, but I think it would have been better if Conner hadn't known Maya since she was in diapers. It would be less cringeworthy for me, I think. Due to that, I think it was a little grooming, but in classic fashion, though Conner was willing to do whatever he needed to do to make Maya feel at ease.

Overall, it was a good book, I think, different from what I was expecting but good, nonetheless.  I am looking forward to reading Mate by Ali Hazelwood.  I have a hold placed on this book at my library, but I am not too sure when I will be able to get it, as I am far back on the list.  I might just end up getting it for my Kobo, but we will have to see it in a few weeks when it gets here.

I am currently reading Better than the Movies by Lynn Painter, as I felt like I needed something light, funny, and easy to read.  I am hoping that I can finish this book and Nothing Like the Movies this week, but we will have to wait and see if this is something that I can accomplish.

Overall, I have had a great week. I hope you did as well. Happy reading, everyone, and we will see you all next week!
