This week I have read 2 books and they are
1. The Emerald City of Oz by L. Frank Baum
2. Fake Skating by Lynn Painter
This is what I thought about them
The Emerald City of Oz by L. Frank Baum
This time Dorothy and Toto are joined by Auntie Em and Uncle Henry to the land of Oz.You see, Auntie Em and Uncle Henry are getting old and can't make a lot of money and can't go out and work, so they can't afford to have Dorothy anymore unless she works. Dorothy decided that they are going to go to Oz to live out the rest of their lives. Of Course Auntie Em and Uncle Henry don't think that Oz exists until they are brought there themself.Together they go on lots of adventures. Dorothy gets made to a princess of Oz, gets lost on the journeys with Auntie Em and Uncle Henry and has a fun time herself.AT the end-of the book, Oz may have been exposed to the outside world so it disguises itself so no one will ever find it.
Fake Skating by Lynn Painter
It took me a while to finish this book but I finally did it! Lynn Painter never fails with her books. This book has many different tropes that make it super cute and worth the read. Dani and Alec where childhood best friends that would spend their summers together. Dani is now moving to Southview permanently and is going to the same school as Alec half way through the 12th grade.Unannounced to Dani, Alec is a hockey god in town and is hoping to make it to the NHL one day.Dani is headed to Harvard but needs some extracurricular activities and who would know it but the hockey team needs a new manager.Dani and Alec start to fake date after Alec goes to a party and an unsavory picture makes it way online and he wants the scouts to think that he is becoming a good kid. Quickly the faking dating turns into real date with a few hiccups in between!
I am reading Mate by Ali Hazelwood next which should be amazing as well as The Patchwork Girl of Oz by L. Frank Baum which is the 7th book in the Wizard of Oz series which I am sure is going to be a fantastic listen.
My plan is to still listen to the Marry Poppins series after I am done with the Wizard of Oz which I think is a great idea. The Wizard of Oz series has 14 books where Mary Poppins has 8 but they are much longer books from what I can see so that should be more entertaining I think and should take me much longer to do.
These are my current reading plans, but we will have to wait and see what all happens next.
Happy reading everyone and we will see you at next week’s vlog!
