3 Books Read

This week I have had an highly unusual busy reading week with reading 3 books.  Yes, one of them was an audiobook but I still completed it which is good.

This week I read…

  1. Stop Letting Everything Affect You by Daniel Chidiac

  2. Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven

  3. Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything: A Memoir by Alyson Stoner

This is what I thought of each one.

Stop Letting Everything Affect You by Daniel Chidiac

Sometimes it is necessary to hear things again that you already knew.Your emotions really do rule everything and that it does mean that sometimes you feel like you can't trust yourself or you have an outburst from keeping everything in at one time. This book walks you through how to properly deal with your emotions with different outlets and suggestions that you might need to have at your disposal. Judgements are never about you and that you should always be doing things because it is what you want and not what others want for you. At the end of the day, you should never have to explain yourself to other people, they should just except you for who you are and be ready for you when you are ready to let them in. Guilt isn't something that you should feel for not doing something either.I really enjoyed being reminded of these things and so many more in this book. It is worth the read!

Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven

This book was OK, I just don't think that it was for me.The story gave Cloud Atlas vibes where the over arching theme is that no matter what, through time you are always meant for one person and one person alone and you will always find each other no matter what. There is more of a fantasy vibe to this book and there is a lot of action to why it is the way that its, and why Evelyn and Arden always find each other in every life and why it resets every 18 years.I just don't think that this story was for me.

Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything: A Memoir by Alyson Stoner

This book is good and I am grateful that I read it but here is the thing, I don't think I learned anything about Alyson from this book. I would say that if you follow her social media and you have watched the book tour that she has been on promoting this book then you have read this book. It is kind of sad that I felt like I have read the book before I read the book but it was written well and it was nice to read it ultimately but I would give that warning to people before they read it for sure.I am happy that I read it and it is good that Alyson is finding her place in the world and it is great that she has become an advocate for young children and becoming an influence in the industry. I am happy that she still has a career despite it not being in Hollywood.

I think I have done well with what I have read and I have my reading set out for the rest of the year which is only 5 weeks away if you can believe it or not but I think that it is going to be a good rest of the year.  I do have some books that I can sub in if I want to but I do have my work cut out for and I am looking forward to reading them.

Happy reading everyone!
