It has been a productive reading week with reading 3 books this week and I know that is really good!
I am happy that I have read this many books and I am looking forward to reading more next week!
This week I have read…
The Story of Gumluck and the Heroes by Adam Rex
Till Summer Do Us Part by Meghan Quinn
The Spare Room by Laura Starkey
This is what I thought about each book.
The Story of Gumluck and the Heroes by Adam Rex
Gumluck is back at it again with his friends Lorem, Butterscotch, Qamar and Gara. They have a quest that was requested of them from a crystal ball, and together they venture out to let the goblins know that what they are doing is not OK.Gumluck has really come into his own with this story and knows he needs the help of his friends to succeed. A very well-versed story indeed!
Till Summer Do Us Part by Meghan Quinn
This book is a romantic comedy, and it is very comical. The book follows Scottie is one of the only females working at her company. At a meeting, she snarks back at one of her coworkers that she does in fact have a husband, but they are going through a ruff patch right now, which is why she doesn't have a ring on. When her boss pulls her aside and states that her husband is the best marriage counsellor around, and would like her to have a session with them. Scottie agrees, and overnight, she needs to find herself a husband.Scottie finds a fake husband in her best friend's brother, Wilder. The session goes off with some hitches, but eventually they get signed up for an 8-day marriage retreat, which they end up going to. At the retreat, they end up dealing with some of their own issues with past relationships and are able to move past them. The antics that happen are really great and are something that had me laughing out loud at the humor. It is worth the read!
The Spare Room by Laura Starkey
This book is sure cue as a romance book.It all starts with a girl's boyfriend of 10 years breaking up with her. Rosie doesn't know what to do, and she can't afford the rent on her own.She ends up meeting her building manager, Aled, who is renovating his apartment and offers to move in with her until the renovations are done it giving her the time to find someone who can move in permanently.Rosie and Aled end up fake dating a few times, but honestly do end up feeling with each other.James, Rosie's ex, realizes what he has done and wants Rosie back, and ends up spontaneously proposing to her. Aled, from afar, sees this and runs away.Rosie clearly says no to James but needs to clear the are with Aled where they make their relationship official!
Overall, I think that I have had a productive week with everything that I have read and I am looking forward to reading even more next week!
Happy reading everyone!
