A 2 Book Week!

This week I have had a successful reading week with 2 books!  I am also getting back into the swing of vlogs again after being off for 2 weeks, and I did enjoy my time off. It is great to be able to come back to doing this.

This week I have read

  1. Alchemy of Secrets by Stephanie Garber

  2. Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer

And this is what I thought about them.

Alchemy of Secrets by Stephanie Garber

I thought that the book was very interesting with magical realism in it.This story follows Holland, who is taking a class regarding folklore. Each class, the teacher provides clues to where the next class is going to be held, and those who know. This leads Holland down a rabbit hole that she wasn't expecting, including the truth about her father, who recently passed away, her sister, with whom she wasn't speaking, and, well, frankly, whether magic, real magic, exists. Holland is in charge of finding the alchemy of hearts to discover the truth of magic.

Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer

The book takes place in medieval times, and our heroine needs a job, and she gets on with the villain.Evie is tasked with determining who the mole is inside the villain's company.what makes the villain a villain? The fact that he has magic and what people don't understand frightens them, and getting to know things is not for everyone! Who the mole is will surprise you as it did me. It was worth the read!

They both were fantasy, which is nice, and I do like them, but I am not going to continue reading the Assistant to the Villain series.

I am currently reading Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood, and I am not really reading or comprehending what I am reading while I am reading it.  I am not too sure if it is that I am just resisting the book due to just getting out of a burnout, it is Ali Hazelwood, or just that I am not that into the book.  I don’t have to read everything that Ali Hazelwood writes but I want to.  I mean, at this point, why not? I have read everything else, and her next book comes out in October, so I might as well!  I am not too sure, but I am going to keep giving it a chance until I finish reading it!  I might read something else along the way, but I will keep you all updated!
